Job Description:

Microchip Technology Inc. has an Intern-Engineering opening based in Houston, TX. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and improving the infrastructure for an advanced architectural design lab. You will work closely with architects and customer engineers refining the measurement process to enable the design of cutting-edge storage ASICs.

Responsibilities:

• Work with Microchip engineers and academic partners to recursively improve lab infrastructure.

Requirements/Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in BS or MS of Statistics, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Computer Science or equivalent program.
• Understanding of data collection techniques and basic statistics.
• Basic (entry-level) understating of one scripting language: bash, powershell, php, javascript, C# or other equivalent scripting language.
• Conceptual understanding of database and web programming.

Preferred Qualifications:

• C coding class or experience.
• Linux kernel experience.
