Job Description
The JM Family College Internship program is designed to create an opportunity for college students to have meaningful work experiences that tie to their programs of study. As part of this program, you will actively contribute to your team's success, learn about JM Family's companies and culture while obtaining new skills through learning opportunities, networking events and much more.
The Enterprise Risk Office's (ERO) mission is to be a valued strategic partner for our customers by balancing business needs against risk while promoting growth. The ERO partners with stakeholders throughout the enterprise to facilitate and coordinate compliance processes to raise risk awareness and mitigate risk exposure.
The Enterprise Risk Intern will primarily support the Risk and Compliance Team while also gaining experience working on assignments from other ERO teams, such as: Compliance Training, Corporate Insurance, Environmental, Health & Safety, Business Continuity & Crisis Management. They will learn all about the ERO's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Framework which includes risk assessments, testing and verifying compliance with applicable laws, contracts and/or company policies. The intern will also be assigned various special projects relating to the enhancement of internal reporting (e.g., developing dashboard capabilities through use of Microsoft PowerBi) and enhancement of existing department deliverables (e.g., MS Word / MS Excel documents).
Responsibilities:
- Participate and contribute as an active member of the JM Family's Intern Program team.
- Attend and participate in department team meetings.
- Support risk assessment process for JMFE Parent Departments
- Participate in ongoing testing of internal processes to ensure compliance
- Develop Enterprise Risk reporting dashboards via Microsoft PowerBi
- Enhance existing department templates (e.g., MS Word / MS Excel documents)
- Support all ERO teams and participate in various special projects
Qualifications:
- Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree at an accredited college or university
- This is a hybrid position (two to three days onsite)
- Possess a risk mitigation mindset
- Must possess superior data analytical abilities as well as strong verbal and written communication skills
- Well-developed analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging both logic and creativity
- Self-motivated with strong leadership skills and ability to make decisions independently
- Must have excellent organization skills and attention to detail.
- Professional demeanor and ability to communicate and work effectively with all levels of management and maintain confidentiality
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, with emphasis on PowerBi, Power Automate, Excel, and Sharepoint
