The Program:

At Medidata, interns will have the opportunity to accelerate their careers by working closely with experienced professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. By being a part of our global organization, interns have the opportunity to work alongside our talented and committed professionals helping them to build a strong foundation for achieving their career goals. For 12 weeks, beginning May 19, 2025, interns will have an opportunity to gain a deep understanding of what it means to be a Medidatian. You will be contributing to the line of business with sustainable and meaningful work.

Our Summer Internship program also includes instructor led training, guided mentorship, exposure to senior leadership and community service. In addition to individual and specific related responsibilities, each intern will participate in our Intern Innovation Lab. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative solution to a business problem currently facing Medidata. As they work diligently to present their final solutions to a panel of top Medidata leaders, we are confident that our interns will make a significant impact on our business.

About the Team:

The Enterprise Support Specialist assists corporate end-users in corporate offices and remote locations globally with technical support of approved desktop/laptop computers, applications and related technologies. Support includes specifications, installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established guidelines of approved Medidata standards and processes.

You also assist in the creation, maintenance and versioning of documentation related to Desktop Support processes, procedures and associated guidelines. The position's responsibilities require independent analysis, communication and problem-solving. Work is performed and requires initiative and judgment.

Responsibilities:

• Assist staff with the installation, configuration, and ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software within established guidelines.
• Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktop computers, peripheral equipment and software
• Work with ES Systems and Network team to determine and resolve problems received from clients
• Work with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client server environment. Ensure desktop computers interconnect with diverse systems including file servers, email servers, print servers, application servers, and administrative systems
• Train end-user community on appropriate use of approved Medidata hardware, software and peripheral equipment by Standard Operating Procedures
• Ensure all Medidata approved desktops, laptops and peripheral hardware is inventoried and perform maintenance/spot checks with user community validating equipment is correctly assigned
• Coordinate with Enterprise Support engineers, collect/validate functional requirements of technical solution/s to determine whether researched solution is viable for purchases
• Work with Ticketing System to review, acknowledge, and resolve all assigned end-user tickets
• Perform other job-related responsibilities as assigned or directed

Qualifications:

• Demonstrated proficiency supporting Windows 10 desktop/laptop PCs
• Experience supporting Mac OSX desktop/laptop systems
• Demonstrate an understanding of basic Networking concepts including TCP/IP
• Experience installing software, patches, updates on Desktops, Laptops, Peripheral equipment and Servers
• Experience troubleshooting hardware issues and replacing hardware on both desktop and laptop PC
• Experience troubleshooting basic network, software, printing problems
• Daily commitment to high-quality results, and Customer Service Excellence
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including via telephone
• Ability to lift and handle packages/hardware with the approximate weight of 50 pounds or more

The salary range posted below refers only to positions that will be physically based in New York City. As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location. Pay ranges for candidates in locations other than New York City, may differ based on the local market data in that region. The base hourly pay range for this position is $32.00 an hour and a $3,500 sign on bonus.
