Job Description:

Position Summary:

This position contributes to the operational success of the Threat Research and Intelligence (TR&I) Team which produces comprehensive threat reports, provides actionable malware intelligence, and supports ongoing investigations for the BlackBerry cybersecurity platform and products.

Location: Austin, TX

Length of Term: 8 Months

What you will do:

• Collaborate with team members to hunt and discover previously unidentified and emerging threats through malware and/or network analysis.
• Contribute to the analysis of malicious files and/or contribute to TR&I publications.

• Assist in the development infrastructure and workflow automation efforts to support daily TR&I operations.

What we are looking for:

• Exposure to basic machine learning and reverse engineering concepts preferred.
• Fundamental experience with Python required (availability of GitHub or other code repository is a plus).

• Familiarity with security related tools (i.e. malware analysis and/or offensive tools) preferred.
• Familiarity with the Windows PE file format as well as exposure to any or all of the following file formats preferred:

• ELF
• Mach-O
• APK

• OLE
• PDF
