Job Description

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week, paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company.Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. In addition, through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key concepts within the divisional tracks of Business Administration, Communications, Finance, Marketing, Sales, Human Resources, Operations, and Project Management and other non-technical based degree programs.

  • This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
  • May reside in either a technical or non-technical area
  • Development events are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.
  • Housing is not provided as part of our program.

Essential Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Finance Strategy:Within this role, you will becompleting testing and preparing for go-live of a new Finance System. You will be given the opportunity to ensure that the financials of the organization have been appropriately recorded in the new system. This will provide you with the ability to learn the structures of the legacy system and gain and understanding of the more up to date structures and process of the new system. Additionally, you will be given a specific section of the Balance Sheet or P&L to balance back to the old system and ensure that any discrepancies are understood.

Treasury Operations:Within this role, you will beassisting the Cash team with posting and researching payments, researching claims refund data, and assisting on any projects relating to the Treasury department that may arise during the internship timeframe.

Finance Operations:Within this role, you will be working on projects focused on cash forecasting and budgeting, collections (negative balances and premiums), and reconciliations (premiums).

Financial Analysis:Within this role, you will be assistingwith review & preparation of various internal and external presentations (forecasts, budgets), assist with a new Finance system, reviewing internal budget/forecast templates and/or presentations"

  • Functions performed are non-technical in nature, not system or analytical based, and will cover a broad range of business-related projects
  • Creates and delivers presentation at completion of internship

Minimum Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience with basic accounting skills, system acumen, Microsoft Office (Excel), experience with automations. Accounting or Finance classes preferred

Desired majors include: Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, Information Technology,Organizational Development

  • Must be in good academic standing.
  • High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to interface with staff at all levels of the company.
  • Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrates strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams where needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Works from a desk most of the time.
