Intern - Manufacturing Equipment Engineering (Studying Bachelor Degree)
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support design, procurement, and implementation of assembly tooling and equipment for BE HDD operations
- Assist in automation project execution from concept to deployment
- Support programming, testing, and validation of automated assembly processes
- Support predictive maintenance program implementation
- Collect and analyze equipment performance data
- Assist in troubleshooting, system maintenance, and enhancement of internal tools and applications.
This position is part of our Early Career program at WD. Our Early Career program is designed to support individuals beginning their professional career by providing the foundational training through a structured onboarding, mentorship, and development curriculum.
REQUIRED:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering, Informatics, Electronics, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience
- The Internship/Co-op period is at least 4-6 months
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and equipment
SKILLS:
- Proficiency in MS Office; Solid work/AutoCAD/PLC and Python software knowledge preferred
- Knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, or Industry 4.0 concepts
- Programming skills (Python, PLC, or similar)
- Data analysis skills (Excel, basic statistics)
- Willingness to learn manufacturing and production environments.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong motivation and enthusiasm for professional development
- Demonstrate a good level of English proficiency (written/verbal)
