Intern - Marketing & Communications (Summer Position)
Job Description
The Gillette Internship Program aligns students' interests with activities that relate to Gillette's strategic objectives. Interns work with leaders and other staff on projects and activities that relate to their knowledge and skills. In addition to project work, interns may participate in programs available through our Education Department and engage in observational experiences throughout the organization. Throughout the program, interns gain familiarity with the operations of a specialty children's hospital and have the opportunity to learn through project work. The program is a part-time paid summer internship, with a required 20 hours per week and the potential for additional hours as approved. The intention of the program is to provide students with a formal experience in preparation for their career. This internship is coordinated by Human Resources and Marketing & Communications.
Major Challenges:
- Critical thinking and ability to manage shifting priorities in a dynamic environment to ensure timely and effective response to patient and organization needs.
- Ability to take direction and apply learnings independently and effectively
- Attention to detail in working with Patient Health Information
- Uses judgment in resolving problems while effectively communicating with internal and external customers.
- Adjust to changing deadlines.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be currently enrolled, or graduated from college
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Ability to speak and write clearly and concisely
- Functional in Microsoft Office programs
- Able to maintain strict confidentiality
Gillette requires all staff to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 unless there is a Gillette-approved medical or religious exemption. New hires will be required to have at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine prior to starting employment and submit proof of 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccine prior to 1st day. Gillette also requires all employees to receive the influenza vaccine or wear an approved face mask during influenza season. The flu vaccine can be done at the time of the health clearance appointment.
