Job Description

In this role, the intern will be part of the Power Electronics Hardware Development Team, and work under the supervision of a Senior Hardware Engineer in the following areas:

  • Design, analysis and simulation of power electronics hardware circuits and systems used in AC motor drives
  • Construction of prototypes and testing in a development laboratory using specialized instrumentation. Gain experience with troubleshooting printed circuit boards, soldering techniques and safety practices in a high voltage laboratory
  • Overview of Rockwell Automation's AC motor drives product portfolio
  • Exposure to Rockwell Automation's product development processes and cross-functional teams

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or similar, from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75
  • Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Power Electronics or motors
  • Experience with design capture tools
  • Be able to work with schematic drawings
  • Basic knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic devices, analog and/or DC-power conversion, programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs)
  • Basic programming (C++, C#, Java, Python or JavaScript)
  • Familiarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametic, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), 3D Modeling, SAP, Matlab
  • Experience with industrial automation environments including PLC or drives programming
  • Experience using Agile methodology
