The role of the Intern in Product & Technology is to learn the design, build and maintenance of high-quality technology solutions that deliver an exceptional customer experience. As a P&T Intern, you'll work closely with team mates on an agile DevNetOps team, requiring close and continuous collaboration with other network developers, product managers and program managers. You'll learn how to translate user stories and functional requirements into scalable, resilient and secure technical designs.

As an ideal candidate, you will have had exposure to network technologies including routing, switching, WiFi, Firewalls, LAN & WAN and monitoring tools used to provide visibility and management of network infrastructure both on-premise and in cloud environments. You will have completed computer science courses in data structures, algorithms, data management and programming.

Primary Responsibilities:

Learns from Network Engineering Team Members high-level overview of network topology and how the network monitoring tool operates.

Ensures system data is accurate and proper thresholds are established.

Learns and employs troubleshooting skills.

Participates in design and automation reviews.

Develop and exploit monitoring platform to full capability including dependency validation, automation and self-healing of on-premise and cloud network infrastructure.

Leads and participates in internship-associated project(s), both functionally and in an enterprise capacity

Qualifications:

Pursuing Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science/MIS

0-1 year of relevant programming experience in Java or other object-oriented programming languages (e.g. Python, Golang

Prior internships, research projects and hackathon participation

Experience coding in a collegiate setting

Strong analytical reasoning aptitude

Excellent problem-solving skills

Ability to effectively operate both independently and as part of a team with strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Fearlessly curious - challenging the status quo by looking at solutions in unconventional ways and seeing opportunities to innovate.

Proven leadership skills alongside academic, athletic, or extracurricular excellence.

Aptitude and willingness to learn and self-teach new skills.

Must be available to work up to 40 hours per week during entire length of program (10 weeks).

Ability to write performance driven code using Java in modern platforms.

Strong aptitude in data structure and algorithm.

Exposure to RDBMS concepts and experience with writing basic SQLs using any Database of choice.

Exposure to Source control concepts
