Intern Project Manager HQ GS

Summary

The Project Manager Intern is part of the Enterprise Project Management Office (EPMO) and will partner with a senior member of the team to support business and technical projects related to Simplot's Global Food business. This position will also have the opportunity to gain experience in the Global Agriculture and Global Services business areas. The intern must have an educational background in project management tools and methodologies (waterfall and agile) or the desire to learn

Partner with Senior Project Manager to oversee schedules and milestone management

• Co-create and maintain a project schedule
• Document Project Risks, Issues, Decisions and Change Requests
• Update weekly project status from team members
• Learn and use project management software (Microsoft Project)
• Coordinate aspects of user testing
• Ensure project resource allocation is accurate

Prepare and assist in project documentation

• Formalize project artifacts (i.e., Charter, Stakeholder Management Plan)
• Maintain Microsoft Teams site

Facilitate Meetings and Project Updates

• Organize and schedule team meetings
• Record, publish and distribute notes
• Update and prepare status reports

Typical Education

High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

Relevant Experience

• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively lead a team
• Knowledge or application of project management methodologies or processes
• Experience with Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Project, Azure DevOps

Required Certifications

• CAPM or PMP certification is a plus
• Certified Scrum Master or Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP certification) is a plus

Other Information

The Project Manager Intern will have the opportunity to participate in the Simplot Intern Program, including sessions with senior company leadership. This position is intended to be full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year (with the option of being full-time during school breaks, based on project needs).
