Job Description

Casual position for the summer to work 2-3 shifts per week (8-hour shifts). Department hours of operation are Monday - Friday, ranging between 7:00am to 6:00pm at the main St. Paul location.

The individual will operate as a staff technologist under the guidance of a Registered Radiologic Technologist, performing radiographic procedures and other related duties throughout the imaging department. This is a student Radiology technologist position, (X-ray Operators License is required in the state of Minnesota) that is responsible for providing optimal patient care utilizing established and accepted techniques.

Compensation & Benefits:

The hourly wage for this opportunity is $23.00/hour to $34.38/hour, with a median wage of $28.69/hour. Pay is dependent on several factors including relevant work experience, education, certification & licensure, and internal equity. Hourly pay is just one part of the compensation package for employees. Qualifications:

Required:

  • Student must pass the State of Minnesota limited scope x-ray operators exam based on successful completes of chest, spine, extremity, and skull/sinus modules and provide documents of passing results.
  • Student must be enrolled in a JRCERT accredited radiologic program.
  • Student must have current BLS certification.
  • Knowledge of HIPPA and compliance to policies and procedures

Preferred:

  • Pediatric experience

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of human anatomy and physics related to Radiologic Technology
  • Knowledge of basic positioning, techniques, and procedures to produce quality radiographs.
  • Knowledge of radiation safety and safety techniques required during radiologic procedures.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with patients and families of all ages, cultures, and physical conditions.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to work in high volume, potentially stressful situations.
  • Ability to learn from and adapt to day-to-day challenges.
  • Ability to operate general Radiographic and imaging equipment,
  • Must maintain a safe, comfortable environment for patients/families in accordance with hospital standards.
