We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Summer Intern to join our Automation Engineering team and perform Continuous improvement of automated cells as well as production support. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of PLC/Robot programming and be able to work independently and collaboratively to ensure our systems are functioning efficiently. Â
Role/Responsibilities:Â
- Analyze production lines and identify opportunity areas.Â
- Propose, plan and develop improvements.Â
- Measure and document impact of improvements.Â
- Work Jointly with production team members and maintenance techs to find the most common faults of every line and come up with a solution.Â
- Provide training to the techs and production team members.Â
 Preferred Qualifications:Â
- Field(s) of study: Electronic, Mechatronics engineering or any other related field Â
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD Degree program at an accredited university. Â
- Proof of enrollment in current or into next program (MS, PhD)Â Â
- Basic knowledge of PLC and Robot programming (Allen Bradley/Fanuc).Â
- Basic knowledge of Python programming language is a plus.Â
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Â
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Â
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.Â
Program Information:Â
- Timing: May- August, or June-September pending class schedules.Â
- Duration of Internship: Our internship program is 12 weeks; the end date is flexible based on individual needs.
- Work Location & Environment: This position will be in Casa Grande, AZ, and is fully in-person. You must be prepared to start onsite for your first day of employment. The working environment will be a mix of lab & office work.
- Compensation: Student compensation is based on location and current degree level, non-negotiable ranging from $34 to $48.
- Relocation: May be provided on a case to case basis.Â
- Housing/Transportation: You must provide your own living arrangements and transportation in the local area. Â
- Background Check: All offers of employment are contingent on clearing a background check.Â
- Drug Screening: All offers of employment are contingent on passing a drug screen.Â
- Medical benefits: Dental, vision, and medical on day 1 for all interns working full-time.
- Visa Sponsorship: Lucid may but is not obligated to sponsor foreign national employees requiring company sponsorship for U.S employment authorization.Â
Compensation Range: The compensation range for this position is specific to the locations listed below and is the range Lucid reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position taking into account the wide variety of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions, including job-related knowledge; skillset; experience, education and training; certifications; and other relevant business and organizational factors.

Additional Compensation and Benefits: Lucid offers a wide range of competitive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, disability insurance, vacation, and 401k. The successful candidate may also be eligible to participate in Lucid’s equity program and/or a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing such programs.  (Cash or equity incentive awards, if any, will depend on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and company performance.)
Base Pay Range (hourly)
$34—$48 USD
