Intern- Staff Accountant

*This role is currently only open for interns for the Summer of 2023*

A fast paced, leading-edge social media conglomerate located in Greenville NC is looking for an intern to join the company’s accounting team to ensure compliance with accounting principles and external audits. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who has highly analytical, organized, has strong planning and time management skills, along with superior communication skills. He/she must be a team player with a demonstrated ability to quickly learn tasks specific to our international presence.

About the Role

The candidate must have a proactive eagerness to learn, and the ability to take on increasing responsibilities. Due to the unique nature of the business, the candidate must be able to transcript accounting business practices into a non-traditional, entrepreneur business mode. The intern will report to and work closely with the senior accountant of the organization.

Responsibilities

- Management of Company Debt Card Program (1600 – 2500
transactions per month)
- Manage aspects of the Divy debt card system to include tracking expenses, coding
receipts with property production chart of account, and uploading receipts to portal
- Preparing weekly reports for various departments to help identify missing receipts and
expense reporting
- Analyzing spending trends, vendors, and various data points to provide analytical data to
different department(s) spending habits, trends, and other pertinent data
- Additional duties as to accomplish the goals of the department to achieve success for the
company

Job Type: Internship Summer 2023; 40 Hours per week

Qualifications and skills:

- Pursuing an accounting or financial degree in a 4-year college program
- Ability to use PC applications including advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (pivot
tables, functions, conditioning formatting)
- Strong problem-solving skills, basic accounting principles, strong organizational skills,
data analysis, and multi-tasking skills

-Familiarity of applicable accounts payable / general ledger systems and procedures, and
financial chart of accounts

Pay: $25 hour
