Are you interested in gaining valuable real-world, hands-on UX design experience during your summer? If so, join MountainSeed's internship program, as we are seeking a talented and motivated intern to join our product and technology organization. In this position, you will grow your skills as you work closely with design, product management, development, and other stakeholders to create compelling user experiences for MountainSeed products and services.
This is a paid internship position that requires a commitment of at least 25 hours per week. If you are passionate about design, have a strong understanding of user experience and interface design principles, love solving problems, and are eager to learn, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity!
In This Role, You'll Get To:
- Create wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and other artifacts as appropriate to communicate design ideas.
- Present design concepts to the team and incorporate feedback into new iterations.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and collaborate closely with PM and software engineers to deliver development-ready designs.
- Troubleshoot UX issues and propose creative solutions.
- Further own design skills and knowledge of UX and interface design trends and best practices.
- Learn about and build on MountainSeed's design system as appropriate.
- Support user research initiatives.
This opportunity is for you if you have/are:
- Deep understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
- Ability to transform abstract ideas into concrete design implications and effectively communicate these concepts to stakeholders. Eager and humble when it comes to receiving feedback on designs.
- Proficient with Figma or an equivalent software prototyping tool (Sketch, XD).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a team environment and independently with strong time management skills.
- Completed coursework in Interaction Design, Human Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology/Psychology, Graphic Design or related fields, or equivalent curriculum or experience that teaches user centered design principles.
