As the Internal Communications Director, you will be the driving force behind all internal communications strategies and execution amidst a landscape of frequent organizational changes. You will be responsible for creating and implementing effective communication plans that engage and inform our global workforce, ensuring alignment with company goals and values. This role demands a unique blend of strategic vision and hands-on execution, with a focus on maintaining clarity and engagement through periods of transition. You will thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and will be instrumental in shaping how we communicate internally as we continue our rapid growth.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that aligns with Bonterra's business objectives and values.
- Assess all current channels, mediums, and content and devise strategy to ensure connectivity between... (something here about pulling everything together, assessing it and making sure we are intentional in our comms)
- Create communication plans for key initiatives, including organizational changes, HR initiatives, company-wide projects, and strategic priorities.
- Identify and address communication needs across various departments and geographies.
- Proactively identify communication needs and develop strategies to address challenges arising from rapid changes.
- Content Creation and Management:
- Design and produce engaging content for various internal channels, including newsletters, intranet posts, announcements, and executive communications.
- Craft compelling messages and narratives that resonate with a diverse, global audience.
- Ensure all content is clear, consistent, and aligned with company values and goals.
- Execution and Implementation:
- Manage day-to-day internal communications activities, including scheduling, coordination, and distribution of communication materials.
- Utilize internal communication tools and platforms (e.g., Slack, Microsoft Teams, Zoom) to facilitate effective information sharing and employee engagement.
- Handle the logistics and execution of HR events, meetings, and initiatives.
- Develop and execute crisis communication plans as needed, ensuring timely and transparent communication during emergencies or significant company events.
- Employee Engagement:
- Develop and implement strategies to enhance employee engagement and foster a sense of community within a remote work environment.
- Monitor and analyze employee feedback and engagement metrics to continuously improve communication practices.
- Develop strategy to assess ongoing sentiment outside of annual survey.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with leadership and other departments to ensure alignment and coordination of internal communication and engagement efforts, (especially marketing, COS's and DEIB)
- Provide communication support for cross-functional projects and initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in internal communications, with a strong track record in both strategic planning and hands-on execution.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a remote, fast-paced environment with global teams.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a knack for creating engaging and persuasive content.
- Proficiency with internal communication tools and platforms, including content management systems and collaboration tools.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
- High level of cultural awareness and sensitivity, with experience in managing communication across diverse and international teams.
Compensation
The range displayed on this job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and in addition to benefits this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses/incentives, and equity.
US Base Salary Range: $133,000 - $165,000

For international applicants, actual salary offers and benefit plans may vary based on the local market compensation standards and will be determined in accordance with regional considerations, including but not limited to applicable laws, cost of living, and industry norms.
