Internal Communications Specialist
Job Description
Internal Communications at Plexus connects team members to the company mission and vision by bringing our values to life, communicating about products and initiatives, and elevating the employee experience. The Internal Communications Specialist is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing content for internal audiences. Serves as site administrator for the company's intranet and is responsible for the site's content management, continuous improvement, and reader engagement.
Partners with key stakeholders to advance communication initiatives and ensures messages are successfully communicated to target audiences. Plans, writes, edits, and publishes content for a variety of internal channels including standalone communications, companywide meetings, and digital signage.
As a strategic member of Human Resources, the Internal Communications Specialist is also responsible for promoting team member engagement through a variety of core programs and initiatives such as Corporate Social Responsibility, Recognition, and Learning & Development.
Job Duties:
- Writing Skills: Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills, as well as journalistic ability to source news and human-interest stories.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency with SharePoint platform, video and photography. Savvy of emerging technologies and communication best practices.
- Creative Skills: Strong eye for design and brand alignment/representation. Ability to apply creative lens to projects for visual engagement and effectiveness.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to establish rapport with key stakeholders and executives in order to inspire trust.
- Planning/Prioritization Skills: Effectively allocates time and executes activities and assignments based on greatest priorities. Can seamlessly manage simultaneous projects while meeting deadlines and deliverables.
- Demonstrated success building and managing intranet content strategy. Ability to develop high- quality intranet content.
- Proactive and collaborative individual with exceptional communications skills.
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to analyze, and offer recommendations for improvement.
- Experience planning and publishing digital content in support of business objectives.
- Ability to respond in a professional manner to site inquiries and requests.
- Strong mix of creative, analytic and strategic skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree
- 5 years
Preferred Qualifications:
- Journalism, Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, English, Communications or related field
- Writing/editing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong technical skills related to SharePoint, including hands-on experience creating and provisioning sites, working with site collections, web parts, workflows, meta data, templates and themes.
