About the Job

As Taskrabbit’s Internal & Executive Communications Lead, you will develop compelling communications strategies that seek to inform, inspire, engage, and motivate internal and external audiences. You will develop and execute strategic internal communications plans to share critical business updates, promote Taskrabbit’s mission and values, and support overall efforts to engage and retain employees. 

The focus of the role is on developing and executing a comprehensive internal communication program to increase employee engagement and build internal alignment and awareness across all employees in all areas including business strategy, organizational change initiatives and employer branding..

You will also work closely with senior leadership (SLT) members to support executive communications including All Hands presentations, speeches, media and podcast interviews, and overall thought leadership. 

The ideal candidate has a clear understanding of the nuances of communication style, including inclusion language, cadence, and format depending on topic and audience as you will collaborate regularly with internal partners across functions (Legal, Product, Operations, Marketing, etc.) and geographies. You will also set clear goals to ensure that your programs have a measurable impact.

This position will report to the Head of PR/Comms, Brand, and Social and work closely with our VP of People and Senior Leadership team to spearhead end-to-end communications initiatives.

Responsibilities:
  • Internal Communications
    • Develop and implement end to end communications strategies that support business goals and objectives, and result in inclusive and engaging messaging.
    • Plan the frequency and channels of communication to build employee morale, articulate company-wide strategy, build confidence in leadership, and rally employees around ambitious goals.
    • Assess needs and write, edit, produce, and manage distribution of internal communications content as needed (e.g., newsletters, articles for LinkedIn, corporate announcements and presentations).
    • Develop innovative communication approaches (slack, videos, presentations, company meetings, e-mails, etc.) 
    • Participate in weekly departmental meetings, and relevant cross-departmental and event-focused meetings as well as senior leadership meetings. 
    • Suggest and spearhead new ways to uplevel our employer brand both internally and externally.
    • Develop and connect our internal brand voice with our external brand voice and ensure we are telling a cohesive story across all audiences. 
    • Create and manage a repository of key internal communications on the company’s intranet, Confluence. 
  • Executive Communications
    • Develop, ghostwrite, and edit internal senior level communications including emails, Q&A, and presentations.
    • Support with briefing sheet development and prep sessions surrounding executive and corporate thought leadership opportunities (media interviews, speaking engagements, bylines, op-eds).
    • Help maintain a calendar of annual conference and speaking opportunities, and proactively develop written abstracts and submissions to pursue a steady cadence of external events/engagements for SLT spokespeople.
    • Support with crisis communications and reputation management efforts as needed.
Qualifications:
  • 5-7+ years in marketing or communications with relevant internal and external communications experience, including working with senior executives.
  • Effective storyteller - you can balance the big picture and detail, and find a way to connect themes and messaging across communications efforts.
  • You’re extremely organized and possess excellent time-management and project management skills, as well as a team player mentality.
  • You have a proven track record driving effective communications campaigns with measurable impact. 
  • Ability to influence - you stand by your beliefs and can persuade others of your opinions.
  • Adaptable - you are comfortable navigating ambiguity and thinking outside the box.
  • Empathetic - you care about your fellow colleagues and want them to have access to the information they need to be successful.
