Internal Systems Specialist (Hybrid)
Job Description
NISC is looking for a passionate experienced Internal Systems Specialist to add to our internal network team. This Internal Systems Specialist will design, implement, maintain, and support our growing server and software infrastructure. You will be part of the internal system team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures that meet NISC’s critical business objectives. This position will work closely with our internal tech teams and support staff in order to identify potential issues and fix existing problems.Â
Work Schedule:Â
- Hybrid from one of our office locations: Lake Saint Louis, MO or Mandan, ND
- Requirement: Minimum of working 1 day per week out of an office location and ability to work up to all 5 days a week from an office location.
Essential Duties:  Â
- Manage incident requests and follow up on resolutionÂ
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of Enterprise servers, storage, enterprise backup, application software, and system management tools
- Research general technical problems and resolve issues for the internal server, storage, and enterprise backup and DR infrastructure.
- Participate in changes or enhancements to implementation procedures as requested.
- Assist with work duties outside of regular business hours, on an as needed basis, to meet Enterprise infrastructure issues, projects and goals

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Preferred: Â
- 1+ years of experience preferredÂ
- General level knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, server, storage, backup/DR hardware and vMware ESXI.
- General level knowledge of the setup and support of TCP/IP networks on internal servers
- Basic level knowledge of NISC related software applications and services.
- Basic knowledge of Project Management Process and Theory
- Basic research and problem-solving skills with a strong attention to detail.
- Documents basic procedures and complex troubleshooting procedures related to systems software and hardware.
- Basic level presentation and training skills
- Basic level ability to organize, prioritize, and adapt to change
- Basic level ability to interact in a positive manner with NISC Enterprise teams
- Basic ability to demonstrate initiative and accountability.
- Commitment to basic ability to troubleshoot
- Ability to travel as often as necessary to meet the goals, projects and objectives of the position Â

Education Preferred: 
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience plus preferred certification in Comp TIA A+
