The Tablo Hemodialysis System, FDA cleared for use from the hospital to the home, represents a significant technological advancement that transforms the dialysis experience for patients and operationally simplifies it for providers. Tablo serves as a single enterprise solution that can be utilized across the continuum of care, allowing dialysis to be delivered anytime, anywhere and by anyone.  The integration of water purification and on-demand dialysate production enables Tablo to serve as a dialysis clinic on wheels, with 2-way wireless data transmission and a proprietary data analytics platform powering a new holistic approach to dialysis care. 

 Position Overview

The International Business Associate to be responsible for supporting and driving the expansion of Outset’s business internationally.  This involves iterating the methodology and prioritization strategy to determine which countries Outset could create the most value within and how to access these markets with a defined timeline and implementation plan.  It will require executing both short- and long-term strategies to achieve international expansion business goals in our selected markets. The position requires full immersion within Outset’s cross-functional teams internally, and channel partners externally.

The International Business Associate should use past experiences to overcome complex challenges, but also have an entrepreneurial spirit and willing to “figure things out” when the answer isn’t clear. He or she will take extreme pride in their work, and of the international program, to “see things through” until the desired goal is met. This person should be passionate about serving customer and patient needs with groundbreaking technology, while also enthusiastically serving internal customer needs to raise the current organization to a global organization.

She/He is expected to provide an extraordinary degree of communication, collaboration and information gathering while presenting business solutions to the channel partners and the leadership team at Outset.


Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities

  • Provide daily support to Head of International regarding various inquiries, issues, troubleshooting, as well as assist in providing market insights, recommendations, and business strategy.
  • Source/identify, scrub, and feed all relevant potential new leads to the Head of International in an expeditious and consistent manner.
  • Maintain exceptional knowledge of market access and regulatory guidelines, including the identification and communication of changes within markets.
  • Assist in developing strategic business relationships in international markets and further develop existing relationships.
  • Representing Outset Medical at industry events to promote Tablo.
  • Stay up to date with competitive landscapes in current and potential markets.
  • Conducting market research to identify opportunities that meet unmet customer needs.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on Tablo. This includes, but is not limited to, specifications, functionality, clinical indication, education/training, and end user experience
  • Influence channel partners to develop regional market access, sales, and marketing strategies to support the adoption of Tablo programs and ensure effective sales and territory coverage
  • Implement international marketing strategies to bring brand awareness, education and programs as supported by our local in country representatives.
  • Actively preserve the legal integrity of the Outset Medical business and culture within the distribution channels, including strict adherence to global regulations
  • Utilize market data and analytics to define business opportunity and customer segmentation.
  • While cross-functional expertise is not expected, cross-functional drive and collaboration with every internal function within the organization is expected.
  • Identify best practices with each launch and implement into the operating procedures.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2+ years in medical sales experience.
  • Ability to excel in a high-energy, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, active listening, and persuasive communication skills.
  • Ability to travel 50%.

The Annual Salary for this position is: $137,000 + Annual Bonus.
