POSITION OVERVIEW

Alarm.com, a rapidly growing and entrepreneurial technology company, is seeking a Technical Sales Account Executive to join our International Team, reporting to the Director of Business Development in Europe.  This position will be responsible for new sales growth, day-to-day client account management, technical training and support for key customer accounts across the Benelux region.  The successful candidate will be our market expert in the region, will identify and onboard new partner accounts and support with pre-sales engineering, in-country launch planning and technical training, and ongoing account development.  This role will ensure that our partners build and grow over time by understanding and utilizing the full suite of Alarm.com smart-home security and IoT services, ranging from backend integrations and support tools to end user features and functionality.  The ideal candidate will be well versed in technology, have a keen problem solving sense, demonstrate strong communication skills, and be prepared to travel to client locations around Europe.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Sales Account Executive primary job responsibilities will include:

  • Owning and managing the relationships with partners in the Benelux region, plus supporting planned expansion and partner onboarding in the DACH Region as required.
  • Lifecycle Account management; identifying potential new partners in region, engaging and launching new accounts, providing ongoing local support for mutual business growth.
  • Pre-sales engineering support for key prospects and accounts, assisting with launch planning and go to market activities, and ongoing account training and support.
  • Acting as a technical escalation point for partners to raise potential issues in the region.
  • Developing knowledge and propositions for entry into new markets and verticals.
  • Gathering feedback from partners and end-user customers on local market needs.
  • Staying up to date with Alarm.com product and service technology releases; training and enabling them for partners.
  • Testing new products and services for local market readiness, providing appropriate feedback
  • Representing Alarm.com at various trade shows and other events.
  • Traveling extensively across the region to engage with and support partners and accounts.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in an Engineering, IT, or Sciences field is preferred.
  • 3-5 years work experience in sales account management or technical support role.
  • Language requirements; Professional/native Dutch or Flemish/French language speaker, plus fluent English – additional European languages, especially German, would be preferred.
  • A highly motivated and organized self-starter with excellent problem solving skills.
  • The ability to communicate professionally with customers, vendors and internal team colleagues both in writing and verbally.
  • Able to operate independently and show a commitment to meeting client & company deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a natural customer service orientation.
  • Ability to work flexible hours in order to collaborate with US-based business development team
  • Experience in Security, CCTV, Access Control, or IoT-related smart-home industry would be preferred.

Ideal Candidate
The Ideal candidate may already be:

  • An Account manager within a Security products manufacturing business, with experience visiting and selling hardware/software solutions to Partners/Installers/Electricians.
  • An Account Manager in an IoT product supply or services business, as above.
  • A Security Installer/Engineer, or Customer Support manager with the ability to present, sell and technically support smart-home security and IoT solutions to new and existing clients.
