International Marketing Director - The Toro Company

Helps to develop the strategic direction for the International Division, which serves countries outside of United States and Canada. Responsible for leading key marketing functions including strategic and annual planning, pricing, promotion, product placement, P&L management, marketing communications, parts/accessories, financing and channel and customer strategy. Drives achievement of annual plans in terms of sales, profit contribution, inventory turns, and strategic imperatives for both whole goods and parts/accessories. Partners closely both with division leadership and leadership of other divisions.
What Will You Do?
- Develops market and share analysis and leads the long term strategic and annual planning processes for the division.
- Leads and executes annual marketing plans focused on broadening engagement and strengthening brand relevance in key customer segments across multiple geographies.
- Ensures that all marketing elements of the annual plan are implemented effectively and on time, including marketing guides, advertising, promotions, direct communications, market research, financing, websites, merchandising materials, trade shows and other initiatives as developed.
- Leverages an understanding of the global marketplace to react quickly to market dynamics in order to achieve annual financial plans. Works closely with sales leaders to implement programs.
- Works, in conjunction with regional sales and marketing teams and other leaders, to implement strategies to maximize inventory turns.
- Works, in conjunction with regional sales and marketing teams, to develop customized marketing plans for distributors and dealers.
- Works (both within the division and in other divisions of the company) with marketing communications, local teams, engineering, product marketing managers and sales to obtain voice of customer input regarding products and promotions. Develops and maintains business tracking processes and analyzes data.
- Responsible for tracking and managing the marketing budget.
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of customer data bases and develop programs for optimizing their use (i.e. marketing implementation).
- Maintains up-to-date global knowledge of industry and trade developments through industry resources, distributor and dealer contacts, seminars and trade shows.
- Identifies opportunities for potential joint-venture / acquisition candidates as appropriate.
- Represents the division at various industry functions, meetings, and events.
- Recruits, develops, builds and manages marketing team to support the division.
What Do You Need?
- Bachelor's degree is required. An MBA is preferred.
- A minimum of 10 years of cross-functional, broad-based business experience, preferably in the durable goods industry with experience with distributor and dealer channels. International and multicultural experience is preferred.
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated superior interpersonal, communication and leadership skills for project/team management.
- Strong technical skills to analyze and assess effectiveness of existing systems and to recommend and implement new systems and technologies to improve overall service and efficiencies.
- Team oriented leader, who is fully supportive of division and enterprise objectives and functions.
- Exceptional skill navigating across divisions, functions and with channel partners.
- Alignment with TTC values.
