Role Responsibilities

We are seeking a new member for our International Operations Team in Salt Lake City, UT to help facilitate small package cross-border shipments, including customs clearance. As a member of this team you will interact with small package couriers (DHL, FedEx, and UPS), brokers, freight forwarders, customs agents, internal departments (Sales, Customer Service, Marketing, and IT) and clients. You will also assist in consulting in the design, implementation and maintenance of the aforementioned programs, confidently guiding clients into best practices. This position will also interact with and help manage a key supplier in Japan. Fluency in the Japanese language and culture is required.

Other responsibilities include:

• Maintaining effective relationships with couriers and customers, often facilitating conversations between the two
• Ability to create and modify customs paperwork (Commercial Invoice, Packing Slip, Shipper Letter of Intent, Air Waybills, etc.)
• Research and implement import formalities by country
• Participate in on-site meetings and conference calls
• Provide continuous improvement suggestions by analyzing existing solutions
• Facilitate shipments to O.C. Tanner's foreign offices
• Provide training and thought leadership to other departments in the company, and to clients, as a subject matter expert
• Any additional assignments as deemed appropriate

Job Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in business or related field, or equivalent work experience
• Excellent communication skills
