International Payroll Analyst

Your role in helping us shape the future:
Under general supervision, the International Payroll Analyst will process international payrolls, ensure all data is accurate, and payments are made in a timely manner and in compliance with international tax/labor laws. You'll assist with gathering of junior level payroll information and guidance to payroll management, accounting teams, HR and other teams (including local country management, tax authorities and legal consultants). You'll also support expatriate payrolls to ensure expats are paid properly and that the company remains in compliance with local & national laws. You'll lend your expertise and backup to the payroll accounting team to ensure payrolls and monthly close accounting activities are completed in a timely manner.

• Process and review international payrolls, validating data for accuracy and ensuring that all payments are made in a timely manner and are compliance with international tax/labor laws
• Coordinate with Human Resources and other departments within the company to ensure the accuracy of special or one-off payments to employees, such as severance, sign-on, referrals and retention payments
• Gather and communicate monthly changes i.e. new hires, terminations, bonuses, rate changes, promotions, etc. to the payroll provider for payroll processing
• Recommend changes in procedures to improve the efficiency of the payroll processing
• Administer approved payroll policies and procedures, suggesting changes as appropriate to comply with applicable regulations
• Manage and coordinate recurring / nonrecurring allowances for international employees including, but not limited to: relocation, car, housing, home leave, child education and geographical differentials; this work includes working with currency conversions for payment and recordation
• Coordinate with tax consultants on international provisional tax payments for correct taxation and reporting
• Assist with Expatriate management, acting as a liaison for employees and tax/legal authorities, ensuring taxes are paid and recorded properly (for the employee and the company) and reviewing end of year statement of earnings for all Expatriates (further coordinating with payroll provider if changes are necessary)
• Respond to questions from HR and/or employees on payroll items and/or guide employees to the right point of clarification and coordinate with payroll provider keeping in mind the time difference, holidays, etc.
• Work with each international location on a quarterly basis to accrue and true-up PTO balances for journal entries
• Maintain a complete understanding of the payroll-related aspects of the Oracle system
• Update quality control logs and maintain records for key payroll-related performance metrics
• Ensure payroll-related data, reports and employee forms are filed on a timely basis
• Keep up to date on international payroll laws to ensure new laws and changes are incorporated into policies and procedures
• Foster a positive and collaborative work environment
• Process International payroll payments in the Oracle Accounts Payable system
• Occasionally, participate in peer review of all transactions entered into ADP domestic payroll systems as well as internal and external international payroll systems

You should definitely have:

• Bachelors' Degree in Accounting, Finance or a business discipline (or an equivalent combination of education and direct work experience) with at least 1-2 years of experience in a global payroll department
• Proven expertise and full knowledge of international payroll processes and procedures.
• Ability to function efficiently and contribute to the resolution of issues in a team environment
