International Strategic Client Manager
Job Description
As Nuveen's business outside the US has grown exponentially over the past several years, the need to service this business has also grown in lockstep. This person acts as a central point of contact and advocate for our internal and external partners outside of the US. As a "quarterback", this person coordinates on client accounts closely across the firm with various teams, including with distribution, investments (PM/CPM/trading), client service, legal, risk/compliance.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Shepherds new mandates from the "win" in collaboration with other teams: onboarding process, through invest-ups, and into ongoing monitoring and future potential opportunities
- Manage ongoing and ad hoc client requests, especially around investments; facilitate and work with internal teams as necessary to ensure delivery of high quality and timely responses
- Maintain knowledge of client account structures, portfolios, and investment objectives to establish and grow sophisticated, institutional client relationships
- Regularly interact and dialog with clients to address any issues and stay apprised of client needs and potential future opportunities for partnership
- University (Degree) Preferred
- 5+ Years Required; 7+ Years Preferred
- SRC Indicator: Series 7; Series 63

Required Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in the investment industry
- FINRA series 7 & 63 or ability to obtain within 240 days from start date
Preferred Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in the investment industry
- Institutional level investment knowledge
- Experience working with institutional investors/clients.
- Knowledge of investments: ability to discuss asset class level and portfolio specific topics with institutional client investment teams and Nuveen's investment teams
- Project management skills: ability to efficiently manage a large volume of requests, of varying complexity, across a range of investment strategies and client types.
- Ability to work cross-functionally, and to develop knowledge across asset classes, business lines, and operational groups within Nuveen.
- Understand and be able to discuss and articulate client's objectives (investment, reporting, etc.) to various internal teams
- Ability to understand and advocate for Nuveen's clients and for Nuveen's investment teams
- Ability to work independently or collaboratively lead cross functional teams to develop solutions to meet institutional client needs
- Willingness to develop a sophisticated understanding of all aspects of the client lifecycle and process (operations, legal, compliance, investments, reporting, distribution, etc.) in order to effectively respond to any client request
Base Pay Range: $108,800/yr. - $181,300/yr.
Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
