The opportunity

Hitachi Energy Research Center KrakΓ³w is offering an internship position for a CUDA Software Developer with C++ and Python. As part of the research team, you will contribute to the development of parallel algorithms for solving large-scale power systems problems on the GPU. You will have the chance to collaborate with domain experts, participate in research projects and potentially publish your results in scientific journals or conferences. We will provide you with access to high performance computing infrastructure.

How you make an impact

  • Your will support the team in the development of parallel algorithms in CUDA C++ and Python, using GPU libraries such as cuDSS, cuSparse, cuBLAS
  • You will learn how to solve large-scale problems for optimization and simulation of power systems
  • You will implement state-of-the-art algorithms and benchmark them against existing solutions

Your background

  • You are a student in the field of science, technology, engineering and mathematics
  • You are familiar with linear algebra and matrix calculus
  • You are comfortable with both, C++ and Python, including numerical calculation libraries
  • You have basic understanding of computer architecture
  • You have a scientific and problem-solving mindset
  • You know how to express your ideas and present results of your study to a broad audience
  • You are fluent in Polish and English
  • Experience with GPU programming and familiarity with Cython and Numba will be an additional advantage
  • Knowledge of any of OpenBLAS, LAPACK, cuDSS, cuSparse, cuBLAS will be an additional advantage
