Internship - Develop Test Automation Framework for Data Gate

Introduction
IBM Data Gate on Cloud is a cloud application that runs on AWS. The product externalises Db2 for z/OS data so that it can be accessed by other cloud applications on the Amazon Cloud. A constantly running replication mechanism keeps the data current. Although not limited to this single use case Data Gate on Cloud has primarily been designed for feeding Db2 for z/OS data into a data lakehouse to serve as the basis for extensive analyses and AI models.

Your Role and Responsibilities
To ensure IBM Data Gate on Cloud maintains its innovative edge and upholds its quality we are developing a framework to automatically build and test the application. The scope of the internship includes the implementation of an automation framework that can be used to develop automated tests and which can be integrated into the existing CI/CD infrastructure.
A student joining our team will

• Work in a multi-cultural team collaborating with engineers in Germany India China and California to develop innovative ideas and applications.
• Gain insight and detailed information about the development life cycle of large-scale enterprise projects.
• Benefit from the work with supervisors that have lots of experience in software development and scientific work at universities.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Pre-University qualification
• Strong Programming skills in Java C++ or similar object-oriented programming languages
• Familiarity with version control system Git
• Experience working with cloud providers such as AWS
• Language proficiency equivalent to English C1 and German A2

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Bachelor’s degree
• Experience with JUnit test development
• Detailed knowledge of Amazon Web Services
