Our competitive intern program offers interns exposure to the business world and a meaningful work experience. Baird's summer intern program is a robust experience that includes an Intern Welcome Event, professional development, and networking with leaders and associates. Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
Located in our downtown Louisville office, the intern must be able to work full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a student who can start in May 2024.
As a Public Finance Intern, you will:
- Actively participate as a member of the team and fully engage in meaningful assignments and client-facing engagements across Public Finance
- Learn how to structure debt and perform credit analysis
- Support the deal process to ensure compliance with rules and regulations
- Research, collect and compile documents and data for special and regular reports
- Proofread and correct written material for correct grammar, spelling, punctuation, and content
- Answer incoming telephone calls, provide information or refer caller to the proper staff, answer inquiries requiring knowledge of the department's overall function
What we look for:
- Current student pursuing a bachelor's degree in Finance or related degree with a graduation date of December 2024 or later
- Strong writing, communication, and customer service skills
- Exceptional organizational/time management skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and prioritize tasks
- A highly motivated, creative, strategic, and analytical thinker and takes initiative to learn and contribute to the team
- Strong work ethic and ability to function equally well in team settings and on a self-directed basis
- Working knowledge of all MS Office applications including Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Prior internship or experience in an office setting preferred
