Internship: Software Engineer Intern

About The Internship:

Unite Us is looking for a Summer 2023 Software Engineering Intern to join our growing tech startup that is transforming health and social services. As our Software Engineering intern you will have the opportunity to work with one of our development teams to build a mobile tool which will use our external API to create examples of new experiences. You will leverage your experience of both frontend and backend systems to create these experiences and/or build a prototype bi-directional data exchange between our system and that of a partner. In doing this you will work closely with the engineering team responsible for these systems, and engage with the entire Agile software development lifecycle.

Our 8-week summer internship class runs from June 5, 2023 - July 28, 2023.

What You'll Do:

• Build an application in a mobile environment 
• Use Python to expand a data pipeline to handle to handle bi-directional data exchange 
• Experience the full agile process from story creation to retrospectives
• Collaborate with developers to build and debug your solution 
• Work with User experience experts to explore design elements 
• Work with DevOps to deploy your solution
• Setup modern observability and monitoring for your solution 

You're a great fit for this Internship if:

• You are pursuing an Undergraduate degree in Computer Science of Software Engineering
• You have experience or interested in learning a mobile framework
• You have experience or interest in Ruby on Rails and Python backend systems
• You have experience or an interest in learning how to call REST APIs from a mobile environment
• You have experience or an interest in AWS application hosting
• You have a good understanding of relational database structure and design
• You are familiar with the principles of Agile software development
• You’re excited to work in a highly collaborative development environment

Environmental Job Requirements and Working Conditions:

• This position is remote, U.S. based
• This internship is $22.50/hour for 35 hours per week
