New Business Origination Analyst

Intrepid Investment Bankers is expanding nationally and seeking to hire a New Business Origination Analyst in our Software and Services Investment Banking Group. Intrepid is a specialty investment bank and provides M&A, capital raising and strategic advisory services to entrepreneurs, family-owned companies, private equity sponsors and major corporations, through dedicated banking teams with deep industry sector experience and over three decades of experience. The firm is based in Los Angeles, with additional offices in Menlo Park, New York, Chicago, and Charlotte. Intrepid is the middle-market advisory arm of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group (NYSE: MUFG), the 6th largest financial group in the world.

Responsibilities

• Supports senior bankers to build potential new business prospect lists using databases such as Sourcescrub, Pitchbook, CapitalIQ and others

• Works with Software and Services banking team to develop and update 2-3 presentations on specific subsectors per month
• Reaches out to prospective clients each week, typically via email, using language developed with senior bankers, following up regularly over subsequent weeks
• Sets up screening calls with responsive prospects and represents Intrepid on initial screening calls, exuding confidence, maturity, and a level of industry knowledge
• Enters notes into Salesforce, identifies potential qualified opportunities and sets follow-up calls for senior bankers with qualified leads
• Maintains ongoing lists of leads and prospects in Salesforce and ensures agreed-upon regular cadence of contact
• Over time, begins to proactively research additional subsectors and develop content / prospect lists with banking team's guidance
• Maintains continual dialog with Intrepid's marketing team and helps provide and update content for broader campaigns
• Ensures consistency of outreach through marketing and business development funnels
• Hybrid work option flexibility (residence in LA or NY)
• Become FINRA registered upon hired

Qualifications & Requirements

• Undergraduate degree
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in banking / financial services and business development.
• Strong evidence of leadership skills through sports, student government, extracurricular, volunteer, or work-related internship accomplishments
