Joining the Secret Service, Office of Professional Responsibility, Inspection Division will allow you to investigate, inspect, and advise stakeholders regarding policies, rules, and regulations to ensure understanding and agency compliance.

- One year probationary period may be required.
- Undergo frequent travel.
Annuitants hired with the NDAA (Waiver for Salary Offset) can:
- Work a limited number of work hours:
- No more than 520 hours during the first 6 months of retirement
- No more than 1040 hours during any 12-month period.
- No more than 3120 hours total during re-employment (lifetime limit).
- Earn full annuity and full Federal salary.
- Work Part-time or intermittent work schedules.
- Earn annual and sick leave on a pro-rated basis (not applicable for an intermittent work schedule).
- New hires under this authority will be offered a 1-year temporary, non-status appointment in the competitive service.
- New appointments can be made until December 31, 2024, and can continue until their appointment NTE date has been reached or until the maximum work hours limitation is reached. Appointments that continue past December 31, 2024, may be subjected to having their salary offset waiver removed if the NDAA dual compensation salary offset waiver is not renewed.
Any offers of employment made pursuant to this announcement will be consistent with all applicable authorities, including Presidential Memoranda, Executive Orders, interpretive U.S. Office of Personnel Management guidance and U.S. Office of Management and Budget plans and policies concerning hiring. Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-13 level if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as:
- Participating in conducting virtual and on-site office inspections/reviews to determine compliance with established rules, policies, and procedures.
- Analyzing inspection data to identify discrepancies, unusual, or noteworthy information.
- Preparing detailed written inspection reports. AND
- Communicating with stakeholders regarding investigative and compliance activities.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
The Office of Personnel Management (OPM) must authorize employment offers made to current or former political appointees.
