TheInvestment Accountantprovides accounting professional support for the general financial accounting activities for the organization in compliance with regulatory policies. This position will be responsible for assisting the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable financial operations, data and reporting. Specifically, in this role, it is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting/record keeping for commercial mortgage loan investments.

TheInvestment Accountantprovides accounting professional support for the general financial accounting activities for the organization in compliance with regulatory policies. This position will be responsible for assisting the delivery of accurate, timely and reliable financial operations, data and reporting. Specifically, in this role, it is responsible for the accounting and financial reporting/record keeping for commercial mortgage loan investments.
What you do
- Responsible for processing, accounting, and reporting of the commercial and residential mortgage loan investment portfolios
- Utilize and maintain Precision loan software for commercial mortgages loans
- Handle wire and ACH requests and accounting for loan fundings
- Prepare various month end loan reporting
- Accounting for income accruals, suspense, and balancing of portfolios
- Prepare Statutory Schedule B on a quarterly basis
- Prepare commercial and residential mortgage loan footnotes within the financial statements
- Prepare quarterly cash flow reports for commercial and residential mortgage loans
- Assistance with bond and stock trade activity as needed
- Works with Investment Portfolio Managers to ensure timely and accurate reporting
- Suggest and document improvements to existing processes and solutions
- Ensure transactional accounting accuracy and resolve or escalate as needed
- Consistently meet financial reporting, tax and other various deadlines
- Identify technical and operational issues as it relates to own work area and resolve or escalate as needed
- Provides support as needed for audits/exams by working directly with the auditors/examiners in providing data and responses to inquiries
- Ensure controls are in place and adhere to these controls to maintain the financial integrity of the business area and systems
- Assist management with projects and system testing as needed
What you bring
- Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in Accounting
- 0-2 years' experience
- Strong communication skills
- Consistently demonstrates initiative and a professional, self-directed approach to responsibilities
