Job Description
CrossBoundary is recruiting a full-time Investment Advisor to join CrossBoundary in Vietnam (Ho Chi Minh City). As a member of the transaction team, you will actively contribute to a powerful intervention that has the potential for significant impact on investment into Vietnam, in addition to building CrossBoundary’s long term presence in the region.
CrossBoundary is an investment firm. As an Investment Advisor, you will identify and evaluate investment opportunities, conduct macroeconomic market assessments, and provide investment transaction support. Investment Advisor candidates should have 5+ years of experience working in high-caliber finance or consulting organizations and experience working in developing countries – experience of having worked in Vietnam is a plus. Interest and expertise in international trade and investment programs will be regarded favorably. Experience of having worked with a DFI will be a plus

Primary Responsibilities

• Managing investment facilitation including:
  
  • Transaction identification and evaluation
  • Identification and rigorous assessment of investment opportunities
  • Market assessment and ongoing market analysis
• Conducting macroeconomic, regulatory, and operational assessments
• Providing sector analysis of priority areas for investment
• Investor sourcing
• Managing numerous investor relationships
• Transaction support
• Leading complex transactions
• Managing project performance and overseeing reporting of all project activities and results to key program stakeholders

Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have the following skills and qualifications:

• 5+ years in top tier banking, consulting, private equity, or similar
• MBA or another advanced degree (including CFA) required
• Strong network in Vietnam is required
• English business fluency, and fluency in Vietnamese will be regarded favourably
• Demonstrated leadership skills; preferably in fast-moving and complex environments
• Excellent analytical ability and discipline; ability to think clearly, structure problems logically, and then design and implement solutions that focus on the core issue
• Excellent quantitative skills; ability to apply analytical rigor to complex and uncertain tasks
• Knowledge of corporate finance and familiarity with company evaluation and valuation techniques
• Ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues in stressful environments
• Excellent presentation skills; ability to communicate clearly and effectively with diverse audiences
• Comfort with ambiguity; ability to operate effectively in a changing context
• Knowledge of the Vietnamese investment landscape (or previous work experience in it)
• Experience working with a range of stakeholders (including private equity firms, Development Finance Institutions, and development agencies) to support investments in high impact sectors

Location

The Investment Advisor will be based in Vietnam. Frequent travel can also be expected.
