Position Overview:

The Investment Analyst reports to the Vice President - Finance & Corporate Treasury and will provide timely analysis, insight and support to Ameresco's project finance and M&A team. The Investment Analyst is a key member of the project finance team, creating and updating deal models and assisting in the execution of ongoing equity, debt and tax equity financings as well as M&A mandates. The position will also be involved in cataloguing Ameresco's investment opportunities and assisting in the company's capital budgeting process. Over time the Investment Analyst will have the opportunity to grow into a position to lead deal origination, contract negotiations and closings.

The Investment Analyst will also support Ameresco's asset management group with the financial and regulatory requirements for the company's $1B renewable energy asset portfolio. An ideal candidate will take a leadership role in providing analysis, develop KPIs and recommendations for optimizing the operating portfolio.

Responsibilities:

Create, update and provide quality-control of financial models for proposals and active deals across multiple simultaneous transactions;

Provide ongoing analysis and insight on deal economics and asset valuations;

Recommend and perform sensitivity analysis on deal models;

Prepare executive summary materials and 'pitch books' for financing packages and internal approvals;

Assist with project management for simultaneous complex multi-party transactions;

Respond to and complete various administrative tasks associated with deal execution on an accurate and timely basis;

Update portfolio and transaction databases

Lead the handoff to accounting and finance post-deal execution. Reply to queries about projects from auditors and internal staff regarding the projects;

Assist in the preparation of operating reports, financial covenant reports, project budgets, and updates to project financial models;

Review operating data and complete analytic reports on project performance; identify trends across the asset portfolio and develop KPIs. And;

Other duties in support of project finance and asset management as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting

0-1 years of professional investment/financial or similar experience

Proficiency with MS Excel and other MS Office suite products

Additional Qualifications:

Familiarity in the renewable energy industry is beneficial but not required

Exceptional analytical and organizational skills

Proven ability to manage multiple projects and priorities within a fast-paced environment

Must be able to work independently

Ability to work across many different functions including finance, accounting, legal, operations

Effective interactions with colleagues, investors, and lenders

Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
