Investment Analytics Team Overview

The Investment Analytics team is responsible for overseeing and producing analytics to support the investment process. This includes producing portfolio performance attribution, analyzing the results to ensure quality, and disseminating the results to stakeholders, including the portfolio management, research, business development, and the client relationship management team. This team is also responsible for calculating, analyzing, and generating additional analytics to explain the results of Arrowstreet's portfolio construction and investment processes. These additional analytics include portfolio positioning, active weights and shifts, model attribution, and tactical portfolio tilts.

The team also oversees investment content. Members of this team will coordinate, draft, and respond to inquiries, questionnaires, RFP's, and external portfolio commentary. This team acts as the repository of investment responses, client notes, and white papers as it relates to all elements of Arrowstreet's investment process.

The Investment Analytics team reports to the CIO and works closely with members on the portfolio management and research teams. Individuals on this team will play an important role working with the broader investment team, including the client relationship management, and business development teams, on strategic initiatives to implement and enhance our investment analytics process and marketing service.

Job Description

The Senior Associate will help manage content related to Arrowstreet's investment process and strategies. The position will work closely with our investment teams, business development teams, and relationship management teams. The Senior Associate will contribute to the growth of the Investment Analytics team and contribute to the growth of Arrowstreet by drafting RFP, DDQ responses, as well as maintaining and updating content and analytics that will be shared externally with clients and prospects.

Responsibilities

  • Draft RFP, DDQ responses and contribute to other requests from the Business Development team and Client Relationship Management team; assist in updating and maintaining our internal database of investment and non-investment related content.
  • Collaborate with internal contributors and subject matter experts to ensure content for external use is complete and accurate.
  • Contribute to the design of workflows and streamline of processes: Develop, implement, and oversee procedures. Enhance and automate workflows to improve the function. Design effective hand-offs across teams to collectively improve our process.
  • Implement new initiatives: Work with the investment team to improve measurement and reporting of portfolio analytics.

The Ideal Candidate Will

  • Have direct work experience in client reporting and/or RPF experience, ideally with an asset management firm.
  • Have exceptional organizational and time management skills and proven ability to multi-task.
  • Be a fast and eager learner, proactive, ability to produce high quality work on tight deadlines; meticulously detail-oriented.
  • Possess problem solving skills with demonstrated ability to productively collaborate across teams
  • Thrive in a fast-paced environment, and have the ability to work dynamically and manage multiple tasks/projects at one time while seeing each through to completion.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work on assignments and projects independently while proactively providing updates, facilitating reviews of progress, and delivering to deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree is a requirement; Finance or Business Analytics concentration is preferred.
  • A CFA designation, or progress towards, is preferred and direct experience in the financial service industry or asset management industry is required.
  • Approximately 2 - 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Microsoft Office suite - Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Analytical and structured thinking, with a keen interest in how things work.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
