Investment Associate, Private Investments Team

Role Overview

SCS is seeking to hire a full-time investment associate to join its small and collaborative investments team, with a focus on private investments. The candidate will be responsible for supporting senior investment team members in the manager selection and portfolio construction process, primarily in the execution of manager fund commitments. This person will be heavily involved throughout the investment due diligence process as well as monitoring and ongoing evaluation of the current private investment commitments. The position offers diversified experience across private equity (buyouts, venture, growth), private credit, private real assets, and direct co-investments. As a member of the broader investment team, the candidate will also contribute to the evaluation of other relevant investment opportunities and will participate in portfolio-wide activities, as necessary. The position also offers the opportunity to conduct ad-hoc tasks related to investment reporting, market research, client-oriented requests, and marketing efforts in an intellectually stimulating and collaborative environment.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will possess a minimum of 2 to 4 years of relevant work experience, prior experience in private equity and/or limited partnership investment role a plus.  Additional qualifications include:

• Strong understanding of private markets, finance, and investment performance evaluation
• Aptitude for rigorous qualitative and quantitative thinking
• Highly collaborative and team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills, results- and performance-oriented
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and communicate with broad range of constituents, both internally and externally, including Investment Committee members, Senior client advisors, and SCS clients
• Self-confident individual who is able to evaluate all sides of an issue, engage in interactive discourse, and provide objective advice and recommendations with conviction to support sound decisions
• Strong communicator, both written and verbal
• Flexible, adaptive, and proactive with a “roll up your sleeves” mentality
• The highest level of integrity, intellectual capability, honesty, and ethics
• Willing to travel
• Ties or desires to be in Boston
