Investment Banking Associate, Generalist

Job Purpose:

BTIG seeks an Investment Banking Associate to join the Generalist team in either our New York or San Francisco office. An Investment Banking Associate will support the new business, transaction execution, and client management efforts of the group, with a near-term focus on working with the Consumer, Energy & Shipping, Healthcare, TMT, M&A, Equity Capital Markets, and Debt Capital Markets teams. In addition, BTIG’s Associates will gain exposure to a wide variety of transactions, including public and private offerings, M&A transactions, complex debt financing engagements, and other projects.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Provide transaction support to senior bankers on a broad range of transactions including IPOs, secondary offerings, private placements, debt financings, and mergers & acquisitions
• Manage several concurrent projects and work effectively as part of a team or individually
• Prepare client presentations
• Financial analysis and modeling
• Assist in preparation of company marketing and transactions materials
• Interact with clients during presentations and deal executions

Requirements & Qualifications:

• An undergraduate degree in finance or economics or related industry
• Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of full-time experience at a top-tier investment bank, financial advisory, or accounting firm. 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to effectively manage multiple simultaneous project deadlines
• Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
• Ability to work well in teams
• Excellent analytical, modeling, and interpersonal skills
• Solid work ethic and superior attention to detail
