Position Overview

The Investment Management Technology Manager is responsible for, in collaboration with other systems leads and senior leaders of the firm, defining, developing, and executing technology priorities to support BBH's Investment Management growing business line.

The role requires application development technology leadership experience and familiarity with Investment Management specific challenges. Additional technology leadership experience with Wealth Management and Capital Markets is a strong plus. A key responsibility of the role is developing, delivering, and executing on a strategic technology roadmap in alignment with expected business growth.

This position is responsible for leading a team to deliver innovative approaches that deliver on the business requirements and drive measurable improvements in Investment Management technology platforms. The candidate will attract talent and continue to build an effective team to streamline our delivery approach while aligning to the firm's architecture driven technology strategy of simplification, standardization, and shared technology services.

This role encompasses direct management of the product, architecture, and development teams. Day-to-day management is required, including stakeholders, clients, vendors, projects, and budgets to deliver technology solutions in line with anticipated functional and technical scope and timelines.

Key Activities/Elements

  • Delivers and manages the overall IM IT plan / roadmap and its execution
  • Strong day-to-day management of IM development staff including close partnership with business counterparts
  • Continually reviews and re-validates projects and priorities with the business and systems and adjusts as necessary
  • Uses inputs from business leaders and other stakeholders / members as well as external research to identify trends that may have an impact on the strategy and roadmap
  • Assumes the lead within the pillar in aligning architecture, process, and governance strategies
  • Develops and manages budgets and resources needs for the ongoing strategic roadmap
  • Provides leadership by exhibiting influence through collaboration and partnership
  • Provide effective leadership for not only direct reports but also employees outside department and location - be a leader of the firm

Education level

  • BS/BA degree in Computer Science or Finance / Business
  • 10+ years technology leadership experience in application development supporting financial services
  • Experience within Investment Management industry and familiarity with IM specific challenges a plus

Knowledge and skills

  • Leadership skills and strong managerial skills
  • Demonstrated experience with collaborating across organizations and driving consensus
  • Comfortable in setting and managing senior stakeholder expectations
  • Strong written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

BBH's compensation program includes base salary, discretionary bonuses, and profit-sharing. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $170,000 to $210,000, which is specific to New York, NY and may differ in other locations due to cost of living and labor considerations. Base salaries may vary based on factors such as skill, experience and qualification for the role.
