The Senior Investments Analyst role is responsible for supporting the management of Nationwide Investment's hedge fund, emerging market debt, public equity and other third-party managed portfolios in collaboration with the Liquid Alternatives team members. This includes supporting the development of an investment pipeline, fulfilling reporting needs, creating analytical models, and supporting/leading special projects. As part of the Nationwide Alternatives Platform this individual will also have exposure and opportunity to work with members of Nationwide's Private Equity team as well.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Assists in the evaluation and recommendation of investment opportunities.
- Assists with in-depth manager / fund reviews with base case and downside analysis.
- Prepares materials and participate in the review legal documentation with internal and external legal counsel.
- Analyzes geopolitical impacts on markets and portfolios.
- Responsible for the ongoing monitoring of a subset of the portfolio.
- Performs the necessary research for early identification of emerging issues or risks within the portfolio.
- Promotes development of investment pipeline handling incoming inquiries, and sourcing opportunities independently in the marketplace.
- Supports the management of relationships with current and prospective investment managers as well as with service providers.
- Contributes to the portfolio management efforts of the team by performing quantitative and qualitative analysis and developing analytical tools as requested by senior professionals.
- Assists with data management and maintenance.
- May mentor to more junior associates
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Appropriate Group Head in Alternatives
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor's Degree; MBA or CFA preferred
Experience: Four to six years of related investment experience
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

- Integrates quantitative and qualitative information to draw accurate conclusions. Experience with Investments a plus
- Proficient in Excel; experience with Python, R, Tableau, or similar is a plus
- Experience with Bloomberg, Private I, CEPRES, eVestment Alliance, or other similar tools a plus
- Experience with Alternative Investments is a plus
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.

Working Conditions: Normal office environment. Some travel may be required.
