The Role:
Morningstar Investment Management is seeking a high performing sales executive with a passion for driving revenue growth. The Strategist Sales Consultant (hybrid) will possess prior asset management and advisor sales experience with a track record of rising above challenges to deliver exceptional sales results. In this role, you will work to competitively position Morningstar's Investment capabilities and offerings with a targeted list of firms and financial advisors. The successful candidate will exhibit a passion for the asset management business, grit and resilience in their work ethic, and appreciate being measured and rewarded on their individual and team results. The position reports to the Head of Strategist Distribution within the Investment Management Group.
Responsibilities:
This role is primarily responsible for driving sales of Morningstar's Strategist product offerings (Investment only: including Managed Portfolios, separately managed accounts, and mutual funds) through advisory platforms, third-party Turnkey Asset Management Platforms (TAMPs), and registered investment advisors (RIAs). This will include driving revenue for new product launches, increasing the number of likeminded advisors, growing our net promoter score (NPS), and expanding wallet share across our advisor base. This position will be a remote sales role with limited, strategic travel required.
Specific Responsibilities Include:
- Drive Strategist product offering (Investment Only) revenue by exceeding net asset flow targets and increase wallet share with likeminded advisors
- Instill a data-driven sales process throughout the Strategist sales effort to ensure a focused, targeted strategy in order to achieve our asset growth initiatives
- Adept use of comparative analytics with advisors and centers of influence to drive awareness, consideration, and implementation of Morningstar Investment Management's full suite of investment offerings
- Penetrate new firm opportunities by delivering the best of Morningstar's capabilities and offerings to prospects, users, and advocates as we seek to increase revenue growth
- Work closely with team members from Product, Investments, and Marketing to execute high quality events to engage with likeminded advisors and recruit high potential advisors
- Provide feedback to support market research and identify trends and competitive advantages that will continually inform our competitive positioning, messaging, and product shelf
Requirements:
- Demonstrate compelling track record of success in investment management sales to financial advisors
- Deep knowledge of the managed portfolio, Turnkey Asset Management Platform (TAMP), and investment management landscape
- Exemplary communication and presentation abilities
- Successful track record of collaboration across various teams to achieve successful outcomes
- Exhibits integrity and a dedication to excellence
- The candidate should be able to thrive in a fast-paced work environment, exhibit a passion for innovation, and harbor a genuine belief in, and acceptance of Morningstar's core values
- Self-motivated individual that excels at both working independently and within a broader team structure
- 3+ years of business experience in the financial services industry
- Series 7 license
- Bachelor's degree with excellent academic credentials
- CFA, CFP, CIMA, and CAIA designations highly valued, but not required
