Techstars Seattle is seeking a seasoned early-stage investor to join our team as an Investor in Residence. In this role, you will assist our companies by providing strategic investment advice and insights. The ideal candidate combines charisma with directness, possesses excellent interpersonal skills, and has a proven track record working with entrepreneurs and closing deals. At Techstars Seattle, we offer early-stage startups the opportunity to accelerate their growth and increase their chances of success. With access to funding, office space, a supportive community, and experienced mentors, we help founders find product-market fit quickly and overcome common challenges.
Since 2010, more than 140 companies have gone through the Techstars Seattle program, collectively raising more than $2.8B in private capital.

In 2023, Techstars Seattle will double the class size from 12 to 24 companies. This means more entrepreneurs can access Techstars' resources, mentorship, and funding, increasing their chances of success. A larger cohort will also foster collaboration and idea-sharing among participants, creating a more diverse community of innovators.
Responsibilities
Directly work with companies to provide insight and advice on positioning and value proposition.
Review pitch decks, data rooms, and supporting emails to provide companies with insights based on your first-hand experience.
Introduce companies to investors who may be an ideal fit.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an early-stage investor or venture capitalist in the startup ecosystem.
- A deep understanding of technology and the startup ecosystem.
- Strong networking and relationship-building abilities.
- Experience in structuring term sheets, pitch decks, data rooms, etc.
- Excellent communication skills.
This is a paid 4-month position, requiring a 12-15 hour weekly commitment.
