As Nextdoor’s Investor Relations Lead, you will be responsible for strategically positioning Nextdoor with the external investor community and providing strategic counsel to Nextdoor’s leadership. You will work with a world-class finance team, and partner deeply with internal product, business and communications leaders. You will shape the direction of the Investor Relations function for Nextdoor as it becomes the neighborhood hub for trusted connections and the exchange of helpful information, goods, and services.

The Impact You’ll Make

As the Investor Relations Lead you will: 

  • Lead the development, planning, and execution of investor relations activities for Nextdoor
  • Strategically position the company with analysts and investors to drive awareness and build the Company’s long-term brand and valuation
  • Build an objectives-based investment relations roadmap and execute accordingly
  • Build and lead long-term relationships with buy- and sell-side analysts to communicate Nextdoor’s growth strategies and increase the quantity and quality of sell side analyst coverage
  • Manage Nextdoor’s participation in events and other investor interactions, including tracking the efficacy of the engagement efforts with roadshows, investor conferences, and individual meetings
  • Lead and coordinate workflows across functional teams, such as finance, legal, product and marketing to develop narrative and maintain consistency of messaging 
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and senior executives to develop financial press releases, key messages, Q&A documents, investor presentation materials, and related content 
  • Respond to shareholder requests and provide appropriate information regarding the Company’s operating results and other publicly communicated releases
  • Oversee and manage quarterly earnings calls
  • Maintain strong company and sector expertise
  • Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises
  • Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor values
What You’ll Bring To The Team

Critical Requirements:

  • 10+ years of directly relevant experience in the investment community, and/or the ability to perform at an advanced level in the domain. This can include experience in: investor relations at a publicly-traded company or IR services firm, sell-side equity research, investment management or strategic finance
  • Exceptional financial literacy expertise including an understanding of financial statements, accounting, and operating metrics, and strong familiarity with financial modeling techniques and valuation methods used by analysts and investors
  • Ability and comfort working independently across cross-functional internal teams and external relationships, and the ability to project lead multiple large scale projects
  • Ability to communicate in a way that inspires confidence in the company both internally and externally. Crisp writing and an ability to sell the Nextdoor story are both highly valued 
  • Prior experience interacting with senior executive leaders and board members
  • A strong passion for Nextdoor's mission

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Understanding of/experience with social media, digital advertising, and/or consumer marketplace companies
  • Understanding of SEC laws and regulations, as well as filing requirements
  • Constructive relationships with the analyst and technology investor community

  • Increasing neighbors in our network by introducing new products and expanding in markets around the globe  
  • Increasing engagement on our platform by making it easier to engage, share interests, and create meaningful connections  
  • Increasing monetization on our platform by scaling our proprietary advertising platform that can service clients from the largest advertisers in the world to small local businesses and neighbors for hire
Rewards

Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.

The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $200,000 to $275,000 on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role.

We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
