iOS Engineer

Overview:

Avant’s mission is to be the one-stop-shop for all of our customer’s banking needs, without our users ever having to go to a brick and mortar location. As the iOS Engineer, you will be directly responsible for many of our core banking experiences iterating on innovative features that help our users work towards better financial health and empowerment. This person would serve as a crucial hire to integrate our credit and debit product offerings into a unified and seamless mobile experience for our end users. You’ll have the opportunity to help define our engineering culture and set standards as we continue to grow our team. 

This is a very exciting time to join Avant as you'll be working with a team of full-stack engineers and working cross-functionally with product, design, and data science to prioritize, estimate, and implement new product features in an Agile environment.

What you do at Avant:

• Contribute to feature implementation in our native iOS app (Swift)
• Collaborate with a team of talented developers to develop innovative solutions to challenging, impactful technical problems
• Work closely with our product team to launch new features
• Help evolve our mobile architecture to consistently improve development efficiency
• Write robust unit and UI tests to catch bugs early and cover fail points in the future
• Influence the technical and strategic direction of the product

Why you are a fit for Avant:

• 1+ years professional experience in native mobile development
• Thorough understanding of the iOS mobile platform and Swift language
• A passion for building engaging user experiences
• Experience analyzing a feature in production using analytics and experiments
• A strong focus on high-quality mobile UI experiences
• A passionate focus on quality, writing testable code that performs well for our users
• Comfortable with integrating RESTful web APIs and JSON.
• A desire to help our team continuously improve
• Strong problem solving, initiative, and collaboration skills.
• A B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent would be ideal.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with declarative UI frameworks like SwiftUI and Combine
• Addressed compile-time/build performance issues and CI
