iOS Software Engineer
Job Description
Volley’s mobile games group is looking for a thoughtful iOS engineer who will build out fantastic games as well as responsible architecture. You would be responsible for shipping great features quickly, while also contributing to the core SDK which will eventually be used for new feature development.
This job opportunity offers a hybrid work arrangement, and we are specifically seeking candidates who are comfortable with on-site attendance in our Bay Area office 2-3 times per week and are either currently residing in or near the Bay Area or willing to relocate for on-site work.
What you'll do at Volley- Build fully native Swift games at the intersection of mobile and voice
- Gain experience with Kotlin Multiplatform, which powers the shared core of our apps
- Engage in R&D across nascent platforms and new form-factors
- Build and scale our mobile products to millions of users
- Built top-notch native iOS applications
- Operated in environments with fast development-cycles focused on rapid product iteration
- Created products for Smart TVs, Apple CarPlay, or Android Auto
- Worked with audio, voice, or other emerging technologies
- Worked with Kotlin Multiplatform for Mobile or on the backend
- Extensive experience with the Swift programming language
- A passion for code quality, design patterns, and architecture
- A love of games
- Swift, SnapKit, & UIKit (iOS)
- Kotlin & Compose (Android)
- Typescript & Node (Backend)
- Martok for shared data schemas
- Kotlin Multiplatform for shared mobile networking
- Firebase
- Onboard into Volley’s mobile team (we will ensure that you will have the support you need to learn the codebase and the way we do things)
- Deploy features that delight and bring joy to users
- Help the team work through challenges or shipping features fast and maintain code quality
- Suggest improvements to the technical roadmap and project architecture
- Work with the product team to improve conversion, retention, and monetization for some of the most beloved games in the world

The salary range that we expect to pay for this position is $157,000-$192,500 annually, based on a local (San Francisco) hire. The final offer amount will ultimately depend on experience, education, skills, and location. Base pay is only one part of the total package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work.
