IOT Engineer

Core4ce, LLC, a data forward provider of big data platforms, data engineering, and cybersecurity solutions for complex, mission-critical systems in the US Department of Defense (DOD), is seeking an IOT Engineer.

Overview:

The selected IOT Engineer will perform in a lead engineering role for a Joint Emergent Operational Need (JEON) project supporting a contact tracing initiative that is augmented with Bluetooth low energy and ultra-wideband wearable proximity logging devices. The candidate will be responsible for supporting full lifecycle systems engineering efforts to include automated test and analysis for shipboard and garrison-based contact tracing systems and subsystems supporting a distributed secure IoT platform.

Responsibilities Include:

• Execute software life-cycle processes including requirements analysis, architecture definition, software design, development oversight, and automated testing
• Perform data analysis and design inspection to solve element and system level issues
• Communicate engineering requirements to developers; collaborate on solutions to overcome implementation constraints
• Serve as an effective liaison between the detailed tasking performed by the engineers and technical leadership
• Create and maintain systems engineering artifacts to model system behavior
• Lead the architecture and technical implementation of a net-centric scalable IoT system that can operate in connected and disconnected states.
• Take up end to end responsibility for system enhancements and features that are planned for FOC.
• Responsible for interfacing with Program Managers for planning and providing regular status updates.
• Lead the technical evaluation of platforms and technologies, tools, architecture and design, performance analysis, and vendor selection.

Requirements

• 7+ years' experience in the development of complex software driven systems for the DOD
• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or Math; Master's Degree in Engineering or other technical field highly desired

• Ability to lead the logical and systematic conversion of customer or program requirements into solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
• Lead the technical evaluation of platforms and technologies, tools, architecture and design, performance analysis, and vendor selection.
• Experience with DOD networks, software and system development
• Experience with the development of processes and tools used to support analysis and test of system functionality and performance during development
• Experience in operations/performance analyses of complex DoD Information Systems and/or Military Health Systems
• Ability to interface with customers from both a technical and programmatic context
• Ability to work closely with Program Managers and Chief Engineers to document, manage and communicate systems and software requirements
• 8570 Compliant
• Must have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with IoT systems
• Knowledge of Military Heath System programs, practices, and assets
• Demonstrated good written and verbal communication skills.
• Deep understanding of distributed and/or Federated Cloud Native Microservices principles and best practices.
• Hands-on development experience with AWS cloud.
• Experience in Configuration Management and DevSecOps
• Experience in various database technologies like Cassandra, MongoDB, PostgreSQL or MySQL.
• Experience with DoD cybersecurity and authentication requirements
• Experience in Graph Database Technologies such as Neo4J or Neptune
• Experience with networking protocols and standard IoT protocols.
