OVERVIEW & IMPACT:
As a member of the WLAN system team, the candidate will contribute the IEEE standards, 802.11 as well as WFA programs. Active participation on conference call, F2F meetings and representing Samsung are important. It is required to have strong knowledge on implementation of PHY block modules, MAC application and coexistence with other systems. The candidate should exhibit strong technical leadership and collaboration with other team members across worldwide location, and great communication skills in spoken and written language. It is preferred to adjust the conference time due to different time zone with other team members.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Representing Samsung in Standards
- Develop key Intellectual Property in critical areas
- Ensure that the Standards are implementation friendly to Samsung products
- Great understanding on Wi-Fi system at top level and its application and features and be able to provide consultancy to implementation team(s)
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS:
- Ph.D. (preferred) or Masters in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science
- Minimum of 2 years of IP research experience required.
- Working knowledge of Computer Networks and understanding of Wireless Communication
- Proficiency in at least one of the following: Matlab, C/C++, Python, Perl
- Fluent communication, internally (in SS) and externally (in IEEE/WFA)
- Co-work with worldwide members and leadership
- WFA certification program and plug fest interaction

PREFERED SKILLS
- BS + 10 years of exp | MS + 8 years of exp | PhD + 5 years of exp
- Knowledge on PHY/MAC algorithms, and interface with RF
- Understanding of machine learning as applied to networks in Layer 1 and Layer 2
- FW implementation for Wi-Fi service
- Network simulator (ns3) and analysis
