Job Description
Be a part of the growing QN Business Unit as an Integrated Program Leader.
The IPT is the primary focal point for internal and external customers. The IPTs will ensure all program milestones are met on time; hence, having a background and understanding of aircraft engine hardware and propulsion systems is a must. This role requires to be a problem solver and support a multidisciplinary group of engineers (design, project, structures) to provide technical inputs to drive the QNs (Quality Notifications) task to closure.
This evident position requires frequent interaction with the customers and internal executive management team.
Duties to include:
- Use the project management principles to track the open QNs and drive them to the closure for the aircraft parts.
- Create and manage industrial level schedules.
- Provide schedules as part of engineering gate reviews.
- Revise scheduling and planning as needed to accommodate program changes.
- Coordinate and lead IPT / supplier resources to meet technical milestones and hardware delivery requirements.
- The IPT leader will work with the Component Integrated Product Team (CIPT), SOW author, and technical owner to plan, acquire, and manage appropriate budgets for specific IPT tasks.
- Plan and execute projects to the defined and cost schedule requirements.
- Provide weekly and monthly metrics on the QN closures and create reports for the internal and external customers.
- Travel to customers on-site for periodic meetings and coordinate activities with the part owners.
- Regularly attend meetings with IPT and CIPT leads to provide status.
- Drive deliverables towards completion to ensure on-time delivery.
- Facilitate the ordering of hardware for various engine builds or tests.
- Facilitate the shipping of hardware for various engine builds or tests.
- Own export shipment plan and execution including all export paperwork.
- Work closely with vendors to monitor hardware creation.
- Complete class I and class II engineering changes
- Execute Teamcenter workflow for engineering changes.
- Track the completion of action items and work with IPT leads and designers to submit completed action items.
- Experience working in a Project Engineering capacity for Pratt & Whitney (direct or indirect) is strongly preferred.
- This role is subject to compliance with the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR), which requires the incumbent to be either a US citizen, lawful permanent resident ["green card" holders].
Tools/programs to be familiar with:
SAP, Teamcenter, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Office.
Candidate should have aircraft/propulsion technical background (Hot section or cold section) and should be capable of reading and understanding prints. A basic understanding of engineering specifications will be needed. Strong communication and self-motivation are a must for any project engineering role.
