As an Institutional Review Board (IRB) Program Administrator, you will utilize clinical research and regulatory experience to assist IRB leadership to meet goals involving human subject protections. This position ensures compliance with relevant laws, regulations, policies, guidelines, ethical principles and accreditation standards.

Job Details

Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes clinical research and regulatory experience to assist IRB leadership to meet goals involving human subject protections.
  • Analyzes and screens research submissions.
  • Identifies problems and issues, collects additional information and suggests edits/comments to documents.
  • Communicates and provides information and guidance to investigators and study team members.
  • Performs or assists with the expedited review process, review of unanticipated problems and other questions, concerns or complaints involving research.
  • Communicates proactively with the IRB management team and assist within the team as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Master's Degree in Nursing, Bioethics or a related scientific field preferred.

Certifications:

  • Professional licensure or certification in a clinical specialty preferred.

Complexity of Work:

  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Work Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience with clinical research programs and/or human subject protections.
  • Offset: A Master's degree and 3 years of experience with clinical research programs and/or human subject protections.
  • Offset: A High School/GED and an additional 4 years of experience with clinical research programs and/or human subject protections.

Preferred Experience:

  • Prior clinical experience preferred.
  • Prior human subject research experience preferred.
  • Prior IRB experience preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Requires normal or corrected vision, hearing and speech.
  • Frequent bending, standing and walking; and manual dexterity to operate computer required.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
