Job Title: iSeries Administrator
Job Description:
The iSeries Administrators role is to optimize the performance, network, security, systems management, operations, and related components of the supported iSeries business applications, including designing, installing, configuring, administering, securing, and fine-tuning various iSeries hardware and software components across the organization in a timely and efficient manner.• Responsible for the overall day-to-day iSeries operating environment, working with all operational and business unit support staff of the Production, Development, and High Availability iSeries Servers• Network TCP/IP Configuration and Troubleshooting with Interfaces, Domain Settings, and Host Table Entries• New Device configuration, including APPC, Printer, Fax and NetServer, HTTP, and Digital Certificate Management• Security Administration and troubleshooting, including Managed service accounts, Security Admin site accounts, Privileged /IBM accounts, and Operational accounts• Work on all security debugging issues and System Security settings• Systems Management working with all BU Teams for upgrades, resource planning, and planned outages. All problem determination for any system resource issues.• Operations configuration, including System start/stop processes, disk, and subsystem configuration• Support all in-house operational toolsets, including job scheduling, Mimix Replication software, DR planning/testing, BRMS backup configuration, and processes. All problem determination for operational issues.• Software support for IBM iOS and IBM I Client Access Solutions, including 5250 Emulation, Data Transfer, and ODBC. Daily monitoring of Mimix and support of all third-party software installs and configuration.
Skills and Requirements:• Minimum 10+ years of iSeries Administration experience.• Strong Command Language Programming skills.• Strong Mimix Data Replication experience.• JD Edwards ERP Software environment experience.• Exceptional written and oral communication skills.• Demonstration of beyond-the-fix Problem-Solving skills.
