The Role:Β 

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated IT Administrator to join our team and work on-site from our Palo Alto office. As an IT Administrator, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of our organization's IT infrastructure. This includes maintaining hardware and software systems, ensuring network security, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing technical assistance to staff members. The ideal candidate will have a solid technical background, excellent problem-solving skills, and a strong commitment to ensuring the smooth operation of our IT systems.

This role is based out of our Palo Alto, CA office.

Responsibilities:

    • IT Infrastructure Management:
      • Manage and maintain the organization's IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, operating systems, and hardware/software components.
      • Monitor system performance, identify issues, and implement appropriate solutions to ensure optimal performance and availability.
      • Conduct regular system backups, maintain data integrity, and implement disaster recovery plans.
      • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights across various systems.
    • Network and Security:
      • Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
      • Implement and enforce security measures to protect the organization's systems, data, and networks.
      • Monitor network traffic and system logs to identify and mitigate potential security breaches or vulnerabilities.
      • Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, technologies, and best practices.
    • Help Desk Support:
      • Provide technical support and assistance to staff members, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and resolve technical problems in a timely manner.
      • Install, configure, and upgrade software and hardware components.
      • Respond to user inquiries, assess needs, and provide appropriate solutions or escalate issues as necessary.
      • Create and maintain technical documentation, including user guides and manuals.
    • IT Procurement and Asset Management:
      • Coordinate the procurement of IT equipment, software licenses, and services.
      • Maintain an inventory of hardware and software assets, track warranties, and manage software licenses.
      • Evaluate and recommend new technologies, software, and hardware upgrades to improve efficiency and productivity.
    • System Monitoring and Reporting:
      • Monitor IT system performance, network traffic, and server health to identify potential issues and proactively address them.
      • Generate reports on system status, performance metrics, and incidents for management and stakeholders.
      • Analyze data trends and identify opportunities for system optimization and improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3+ years experience as an IT Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of IT systems, infrastructure, and networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting Windows/Linux operating systems and related technologies.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with security protocols, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+, CCNA) are desirable.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
