IT Android Mobile Developer

AiM is seeking self-motivated, detailed oriented, hardworking individual to join our development team. This person will be part of a team of mobile developers working to enhance and grow our mobile inspection platform working on-site at our Farmington Hills office.

Not to mention, we offer 1 day work-from-home to our IT staff after they complete 90 days.

Essential Job Functions:

1. Design, develop, test, document, deploy, support and sustain the mobile apps-Android Phone(s) & other devices including interface and libraries.
2. Create application code using best practice coding standards
3. Participate in code reviews
4. Unit test all developed modules
5. Work with the team in the development and execution of test plans
6. Diagnose and resolve production support issues
7. Help research and troubleshoot programming issues as they are identified through QA
8. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of automated deployments.
9. Thought leader on the future technologies used for environment management, automation, and monitoring.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
11. Regular and consistent attendance and availability
12. Other duties may be assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• Has no supervisory responsibility, provides basic work direction usually one-on-one

Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:

Job Knowledge and Skill:
Excellent time management skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritize day-to-day responsibilities; Detail oriented, highly focused and very organized; Ability to maintain a high level of energy and enthusiasm; Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships

Experience:

• Strong design, programming, and debugging skills
• 2+ years Android development

• 2+ years Java and Android SDK
• Android UI design principles
• Strong SQL skills
• Experience working with RESTful APIs
• Proficient experience creating comprehensive unit tests
• Exceptional communication skills - written and verbal
• Self-starter, driven individual
• Very good analytical skills
• Team leader abilities

The following skills would be a bonus:

• Agile development
• Ability to work with QA to introduce innovative methods for mobile platform testing
• Jenkins build server
• Continuous integration systems
• Experience with Git
• Knowledge of Cucumber/Gherkin

• TDD/BDD experience
• Strong web UI design and implementation experience, including prototyping
• iOS and/or React Native
• Cloud - Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Strong experience with multithreading and memory management

Education, Licenses, Certificates, Registrations:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or other related Computer Technology program
• 2+ years of work related experience
• Prior experience as an Android Developer
• Automotive Industry experience a plus

Computer Skills:

• Working knowledge of power point, word processor, spreadsheet, other PC applications, ability to adapt to new technology as it becomes available

Communication Skills:

• Ability to excel in a team environment required. Must be able to communicate effectively with all levels of company personnel and customers, both written and verbally

Analytical Skills:

• Strong analytical skills required with strong attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to source, disseminate and properly apply secondary research

Travel

• Minimal to light overnight travel as needed

Compensation:

1. Salaried/exempt - TBD upon hiring
2. Benefits including medical, dental, vision, LTD, life insurance and 401 K participation.
3. No relocation will be paid
